At Minn-Kota PAAWS, our mission is to promote the health and well-being of pets and the people who love them by providing accessible, affordable, and compassionate spay and neuter services. 

We are committed to reducing pet overpopulation and supporting our community through inclusive care—because everyone deserves the opportunity to keep their pets healthy, regardless of income or background.

Dr. Oetker

Dr. Oetker graduated from the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine and brings both expertise and a genuine love for animals to her work at Minn-Kota PAAWS. She is passionate about helping pets stay healthy and supporting the people who care for them, and she especially enjoys making veterinary care accessible for families in 

Dr. Oetker graduated from the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine and brings both expertise and a genuine love for animals to her work at Minn-Kota PAAWS. She is passionate about helping pets stay healthy and supporting the people who care for them, and she especially enjoys making veterinary care accessible for families in our community.  Dr Oetker is a master at creative problem-solving and can MacGyver a solution to anything.  

She lives in Fargo with her husband and their three kids. At home, the family also shares their lives with a cat and two dogs.  She is also on call for any of PAAWS' Staff pet issues, making her wish she never gave us her phone number.

Hi, I’m Britny! I’ve been a vet tech sicne 2012, and I absolutely love what I do. Helping sick pets feel better and seeing them go home happy and healthy is the best part of my job.

I’m always looking for ways to grow, learn, and keep giving back to the community—whether that’s through learning new skills or just being there for the animal

Hi, I’m Britny! I’ve been a vet tech sicne 2012, and I absolutely love what I do. Helping sick pets feel better and seeing them go home happy and healthy is the best part of my job.

I’m always looking for ways to grow, learn, and keep giving back to the community—whether that’s through learning new skills or just being there for the animals (and their humans) who need me.

Fun fact: I have over 30 tattoos, including a full cat sleeve!

Melody is a LVT based in Wolverton, Minnesota. Originally from Fargo, North Dakota, she graduated from NDSU in 2011 and has worked in veterinary medicine ever since. For the past five years, she’s been part of the team at PAAWS, where she provides skilled, compassionate care to both animals and their owners.

Melody lives with her husband and daughter and a beloved collection of pets—including horses, dogs, and cats. Her son is currently away in college and she has a daughter still at home. In her spare time, she enjoys puzzles, cross-stitching, and other crafts—hobbies that reflect the same patience and attention to detail she brings to her work every day.

Alyssa is a LVT with 9 years of experience in veterinary medicine. She is passionate about providing compassionate, fear-free care and helping pets feel as comfortable as possible during their visits. Her favorite areas of veterinary medicine are anesthesia and laboratory work, where she enjoys closely monitoring patients and supporting t

Alyssa is a LVT with 9 years of experience in veterinary medicine. She is passionate about providing compassionate, fear-free care and helping pets feel as comfortable as possible during their visits. Her favorite areas of veterinary medicine are anesthesia and laboratory work, where she enjoys closely monitoring patients and supporting the medical team in providing high-quality care.

At home, Alyssa has a full house with 8 dogs, 5 cats, a rabbit, and an axolotl. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their animals. A fun fact about Alyssa is that she loves all animals—including exotic species—and she used to be an Irish step dancer.

I've got a long background of loving animals starting as a kid in 4-H and FFA, internships at a zoo and aquarium after college, and helping manage a couple of doggy daycares and groomers before finding my place at PAAWS. I love being able to help our clients help their pets whether it be through our food pantry, medical car

I've got a long background of loving animals starting as a kid in 4-H and FFA, internships at a zoo and aquarium after college, and helping manage a couple of doggy daycares and groomers before finding my place at PAAWS. I love being able to help our clients help their pets whether it be through our food pantry, medical care, or just moral support! In my spare time, you can find me hanging out with my husband and ours pets or with my best friend, her son, and our massive collection of plants.

I’m Hannah! I’ve been a part of PAAWS as a Veterinary Assistant for almost 2 years. My favorite part of my job is getting to help all of the pets that come to our clinic and getting to work with the most awesome team of ladies! I love being able to make a difference in our community. I’m currently studying to become a licensed vet tech. W
