Preparing for your pet's surgery

The Day Before Your Pet's Appointment:  Please take your pet's food away after 10 pm the night before surgery.  Your pet can still have free access to water.  Puppies and kittens under 4 months old should eat a small meal before surgery.

Arrival:  Arrive on time for your appointment.  Check in for cats is 7:30 am - 8:00 am.  Check in for dogs is 8:00 am -8:30 am.  If you are late, we may need to reschedule your appointment.  Plan to be at the clinic for around 10 minutes to complete the check-in process for your pet.

Forms:  You'll be asked to fill out a short form with information about you and your pet when you arrive at PAAWS.  You can print these forms at home and fill them out before your appointment.

*** Please ensure that you select the appropriate paperwork, dogs and cats have separate forms.

What do I need to bring?  If your pet has had vaccinations, we will need to see proof from the veterinarian's office.  Please have these with you as we are generally not able to call for records the day of surgery.  If you adopted a pet from a shelter or rescue, please bring any paperwork you received so we know which vaccinations we need to administer.

If you are bringing a cat:  Bring your cat in a carrier.  If you need to borrow a carrier please let us know before bringing your cat into the clinic. Cardboard pet carriers are available for purchase for $5.

If you are bringing a dog:  Dogs must be on a leash or in a pet carrier.  If you do not have a leash please let us know prior to bringing your dog into the building.  We can lend you a leash to lead your pet safely from your car to the clinic.

Payment:  Services must be paid for at the time of drop off.

We accept cash, credit, debit or Scratchpay. Checks are not accepted.

Going Home:  Your pet's surgery is a same-day surgery. Pick up for all pets is between 3:30 and 5:00 pm.  Late charges will be assessed for pets picked up after 5:00 pm.
